Our submission to the task is a FLAN-T5 base model fine-tuned on the abstract and conclusion of articles and expert-written lay summaries from the shared task{'}s provided datasets. We find that our system performs competitively in terms of relevance, exceeds the baseline on factuality, but falls short on readability."
