Despite recent advances in speech-to-speech translation (S2ST), it remains difficult to achieve both high translation accuracy and practical flexibility. In this paper, we present S2ST-Omni, a compositional S2ST framework that integrates a high-accuracy speech-to-text translation (S2TT) frontend with a modular, plug-and-play text-to-speech (TTS) backend, enabling independent optimization of translation and synthesis. On the S2TT side, we introduce a hybrid adapter that follows a “local-then-global” strategy to bridge the pretrained Whisper encoder and Qwen3 LLM, yielding a hierarchical acoustic-to-semantic abstraction. Building on this bridge, we further propose a hierarchical language-aware architecture that injects source-language information at two complementary levels. At the acoustic level, Language-Aware Dual-CTC operates on intermediate adapter features and employs FiLM-style feature modulation with a learnable gate, encouraging the model to learn language-specific but content-faithful acoustic representations. At the linguistic level, Language-Aware Prompting dynamically constructs source-language-conditioned prompts that activate language-specific translation knowledge in the LLM. To enable efficient optimization, we design a task-specific progressive fine-tuning strategy that first stabilizes speech-text alignment and then improves translation via LoRA on top of this converged foundation. The TTS backend remains fully modular and can be instantiated with any state-of-the-art synthesizer without retraining the S2TT frontend. Experiments on CVSS-C show that S2ST-Omni consistently achieves the best BLEU and ASR-BLEU across French, German, and Spanish to English directions, outperforming strong recent S2ST baselines.
The rapid advancement of instruction-guided audio generation has highlighted the critical need for robust alignment evaluation. Current automated evaluation methods heavily rely on holistic scoring from general-purpose large language models, which struggle to decouple complex instructions, lack interpretability, and fail to capture fine-grained attribute mismatches. To address this, we introduce a novel dynamic rubric-based evaluation paradigm that adaptively decomposes complex audio captions into a variable number of independent, verifiable binary rubric items. To rigorously benchmark this capability, we propose the AnyAudio-Judge Bench, a comprehensive, bilingual benchmark comprising 7,920 meticulously curated samples across four diverse audio domains (speech, sound, music, and mixed), featuring deliberately constructed hard negatives. Furthermore, we construct a large-scale corpus of 105K samples with explicit Chain-of-Thought (CoT) rationales to train our dedicated evaluator, the AnyAudio-Judge model. By employing a training pipeline that combines Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) and Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO), our model successfully aligns its reasoning paths with the rubric-based scoring mechanism. Extensive experiments demonstrate that AnyAudio-Judge not only significantly enhances zero-shot alignment detection compared to state-of-the-art baselines, but also provides precise and interpretable reward signals that substantially improve instruction alignment in downstream reinforcement learning for audio generation.

Expressive zero-shot voice conversion (VC) is a critical and challenging task that aims to transform the source timbre into an arbitrary unseen speaker while preserving the original content and expressive qualities. Despite recent progress in zero-shot VC, there remains considerable potential for improvements in speaker similarity and speech naturalness. Moreover, existing zero-shot VC systems struggle to fully reproduce paralinguistic information in highly expressive speech, such as breathing, crying, and emotional nuances, limiting their practical applicability. To address these issues, we propose Takin-VC, a novel expressive zero-shot VC framework via adaptive hybrid content encoding and memory-augmented context-aware timbre modeling. Specifically, we introduce an innovative hybrid content encoder that incorporates an adaptive fusion module, capable of effectively integrating quantized features of the pre-trained WavLM and HybridFormer in an implicit manner, so as to extract precise linguistic features while enriching paralinguistic elements. For timbre modeling, we propose advanced memory-augmented and context-aware modules to generate high-quality target timbre features and fused representations that seamlessly align source content with target timbre. To enhance real-time performance, we advocate a conditional flow matching model to reconstruct the Mel-spectrogram of the source speech. Experimental results show that our Takin-VC consistently surpasses state-of-the-art VC systems, achieving notable improvements in terms of speech naturalness, speech expressiveness, and speaker similarity, while offering enhanced inference speed.
